on the banks of the river Musi and is
surrounded by huge prehistoric rock
formations.
The capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad is the fifth largest city
in India with an ancient civilisation
and culture. Attached to the city is
its twin, Secunderbad which is part
of Hyderabad. The twin cities are separated
by the Husain Sagar, an artificial lake
constructed during the time of Ibrahim
Quli Qutb Shah Wali in 1562 A.D.

and lakes, the city is a popular tourist

A multitude of influences have shaped
the character of the city. Its palaces
and buildings, hotels, houses, gardens
and streets have a history and an architectural
individuality of their own. Here visitors
can experience the thrill of coming
face-to-face with a pack of lions, within

low humidity during the greater part
of the year. In April and May temperatures
may go up to 40 degree centigrade but
during the rest of the year the climate
